UBC Geering Up presents the Engineering Design Competition for all students in Grades 7 to 12. Parents are invited to join the Parent Session towards the end of the event.
In partnership with BGC Engineering, an international consulting firm specializing in solutions for complex earth science challenges, UBC Geering Up is proud to host an Engineering Design Challenge to explore your creative and critical thinking skills! Students will work in teams to develop innovative solutions to the challenge presented on the competition day. After developing their solution, groups will present their work and have it evaluated by a panel of judges. Your design challenge could be to create a solution for geo-hazards in particular regions, to build a mine design or more. Specific challenge themes will be revealed on the day of!
We will conclude this event with a Parent Info Session where we will have a representative from UBC's Faculty of Applied Sciences to answer questions on pathways to UBC Engineering!
Please note that although each student will register individually, you are able to select your own team. Don't have a team? Don't worry! Simply let us know in the registration form and we will place you in a team.
