Build Your Future with Us

You’ve dreamed of being an engineer. With the Engineering Transfer Program or Common First Year Engineering Curriculum, engineering can be part of your future.

You’ll start by studying UBC’s first-year foundational engineering curriculum at one of our partner universities and colleges. If you complete the full program and meet the requirements, you can be admitted directly into second-year engineering at UBC.

A Proven Pathway for Success

Want to study closer to home for first year? Or don’t quite have the GPA to get into first-year engineering at UBC? The Engineering Transfer Program or Common First Year Engineering Curriculum could be the option you’re looking for. Enrol in one of our partner universities and colleges in BC and take the foundational first-year UBC engineering curriculum. If you complete the Engineering Transfer Program within one academic year (September through April) and attain a GPA of 3.1 or higher, you can be admitted directly into second-year engineering at the Vancouver campus, or attain a GPA of 2.8 or higher to be admitted to the Okanagan campus.   UBC Vancouver Engineering Transfer Program

Find Your Community at UBC

When you transfer to UBC, in the spring before you begin, you’ll select one of 14 engineering programs as your area of focus. At the Vancovuer campus, this is competitive through the 2nd Year Placement Process, while the Okanagan campus does not have caps on the five programs available. As you join the other second-year students, you’ll find many opportunities to make friends and build connections. Getting involved in clubs, campus events and other opportunities on campus make studying at UBC an incredible and memorable experience.
