Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

UBC offers a great range of scholarships, bursaries and awards for students based on your academic achievement and in many cases, a combination of financial need and/or achievement in other areas such as leadership and community service. For more information, visit Student Services awards.

Engineering Specific Scholarships

Engineering Scholarship for Innovation - Award ID 5396

One or more scholarships valued at $5,000 each are awarded annually to exceptional students entering directly from secondary school into the first year engineering program.

Subject to continued scholarship standing, the scholarship will be renewed for a further three years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained, whichever is shorter.

You are eligible if you:

  • are new to UBC, entering directly from secondary school
  • possess high academic achievement and outstanding promise in engineering, demonstrated through success at national and/or international science and engineering competitions
  • apply to the UBC Bachelor of Applied Science program in Engineering. All students who apply are automatically considered.
Elizabeth and Leslie GOULD Entrance Scholarship for Engineering - Award ID 5403

Up to 5 scholarships valued at $2,500 each are offered annually to outstanding domestic or international students entering their first year of the Bachelor of Applied Science program in Engineering.

Subject to continued scholarship standing, the scholarship will be renewed for a further three years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained, whichever is shorter.

You are eligible if you:

  • are entering your first year of the Bachelor of Applied Science program in Engineering
  • are either a Canadian student or an international student who will be studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa)
  • have demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement. Co-curricular activities and leadership potential will also be considered.
  • apply to the UBC Bachelor of Applied Science program in Engineering. All students who apply are automatically considered.
