Michael Rensing joined the British Columbia public service in September 2003 to work in the Air
Protection Section of the Ministry of Environment. In November 2007 he moved to the Ministry
of Energy and Mines to develop policies and legislation for renewable and low-carbon fuels.
Currently, Michael is the Director of the Low Carbon Fuels Branch in the Electricity and
Alternative Energy Division, and is co-chairing the Federal/Provincial/Territorial working group
to help develop the national Clean Fuel Standard. Michael has a PhD in Physics from the
University of Victoria.
