Schulich Leaders
Rebecca Lim and Noah Tajwar

Two APSC students, Rebecca Lim and Noah Tajwar, are featured in a video promoting Schulich Leaders on the UBC campus.

Currently a first-year engineering student, Lim is a graduate of Frank Hurt Secondary School in Surrey, where she founded and ran the STEM Club, served on the student council and played and coached hockey. Tajwar is a third-year engineering physics student who has worked at Hootsuite, NuGrid and Microsoft and is the Payload Team Lead for UBC Orbit, a satellite design team comprised of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines.

Each year, the Schulich Foundation awards scholarships to 50 high school graduates across Canada who have demonstrated academic excellence, outstanding leadership and/or financial need. They must also be entrepreneurial-minded and intend to enroll in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate program at one of 20 partner universities in Canada.

Established in 2012 by businessman and philanthropist Seymour Schulich, the $100 million scholarship fund aims "to encourage our best and brightest students to become the next pioneers of global scientific research and innovation." Scholarships are valued at $100,000 for engineering students and $80,000 for science, technology and math students.

The video was created by UBC Development and Alumni Engagement and UBC Student Services.
