Graduate admissions

The Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) and Master of Engineering (MEng) are professional programs designed for engineers wishing to upgrade their training and fast-forward their careers.

The Master of Applied Science (MASc), Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) are thesis-based research programs designed for students wishing to pursue research.

Master of Engineering Leadership

The Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) accepts engineers and technical leaders with three or more years of industry experience. The MEL is an interdisciplinary degree with classes in both the Faculty of Applied Science and the Robert H. Lee Graduate School at UBC’s Sauder School of Business. The MEL focuses on developing students’ technical and business knowledge. These programs are offered on UBC's Vancouver campus only.

Master of Engineering

The Master of Engineering (MEng) accepts engineers with or without professional experience, including students applying directly after completing an undergraduate engineering degree. The program is taught wholly within UBC’s Faculty of Applied Science and emphasizes advancing students’ technical knowledge.
