Virtual UBC Engineering Open House to take place this Saturday
On November 7, UBC Applied Science will host one of its biggest events of the year: the annual UBC Engineering and SALA Open House.
Engineers and architects are playing key roles in efforts to tackle global challenges like climate change and sustainable development, and UBC Applied Science is actively seeking to nurture a diverse new generation of creative problem-solvers.
To be held entirely online for the first time in its ten-year history, the event will give prospective students around the world an opportunity to learn about engineering, architecture and landscape architecture studies at UBC.
How do you apply? What is it like to be a student here? What careers can you pursue with your degree after graduation? Current students, faculty members and academic advisors will be on hand to answer these and many other questions at various sessions — live presentations, panels, Q&As — throughout the day.
Attendees will also have a chance to participate in virtual lab tours and watch pre-recorded videos that demonstrate the impact engineers can make in areas like manufacturing and health care.
