So you think you might be interested in studying engineering! Great! Just like any journey, you’ll need to do some advance planning.
More to the point: you need take specific math and science courses during high school so you meet the admissions criteria for engineering programs.

STEM courses will get you to your destination
When you start high school, you’ll want to enrol in math, physics and chemistry courses and continue taking higher levels of those courses. (In case you were wondering, STEM refers to science, technology, engineering and math.)
If you think of engineering as your destination – with university as your first stop – these courses are the bike that will get you there.
So just what are these courses? The high school courses you need to get into engineering – and why they’re important!

Just as you need to know how to ride a bike to get to your destination, you need to be familiar with math and scientific concepts to study or work in engineering. You don’t need to be a Tour de France level cyclist or at the top of your class in these courses! You just need to be comfortable with the concepts and enjoy the ride.
