Celebrating women in engineering
UBC Engineering is highlighting stories featuring women studying and working as engineers.
Edited: June 29, 2022
While the numbers of women enrolled in postsecondary engineering programs and working as professional engineers have increased over the past few decades, women continue to be significantly underrepresented in these areas.
One way to help close this gap is to show young women who are interested in science and mathematics the incredible career opportunities that await them in the field of engineering, and how their work can have a meaningful impact on our society.
These stories aim to do precisely that!
Behind the Career
The Behind the Career video series on YouTube spotlights women engineers and engineers-in-training across UBC Engineering’s 14 different specializations. In these videos, remarkable women share their career experiences and insights with current and prospective engineering students.
Engineering Stories
The Engineering Stories social media platform aims to showcase the lives of UBC Engineering students and of students and professionals from underrepresented groups in the engineering field.
Join us in celebrating not only engineering students and professional engineers, but also “the diversity of thought, opportunities, and people that make up the engineering profession.”
