On June 28, 2022, the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board confirmed that the Manufacturing Engineering program at the UBC Vancouver campus and the Manufacturing Engineering program at the School of Engineering on the Okanagan campus, including the inaugural graduating class of 2022, has been accredited. The first accreditation period will extend to June 30, 2024 for Vancouver and June 30, 2025 for Okanagan, with regular renewal procedures planned to maintain program accreditation for the foreseeable future.

On June 1, 2022, the class of 2022 became the first to graduate from the program. The Manufacturing Engineering program is the first program co-developed and co-launched across both campuses and began accepting students into the second year in September 2019. Since its inception, the program has been working with a vision to develop next-generation engineers who can actively contribute and innovate in the ever-evolving manufacturing space. The graduates are now to translate the learning from the program into the real world and build on this promise. As the first graduating class, they will most definitely set the bar for future graduates and work to uphold best practices and UBC Engineering values.
